We exit the east gate of Yellowstone this morning at about 10:00 AM and we never even got to meet Yogi or Booboo. BooHoo. Oh well, we saw lots of other animals.
A quick stop in Cody to update emails and a burger and then on to Lovell where we stop for a visit at the Heart Mountain Interpretive Centre where 10,000 people of Japanese descent were interned during WWII.

From therre we make it all the way to Bighorn Canyon National Park. We haven't driven far but we heard that this was a "must stop". It turned out to be very true and we decided to overnght in the park before crossing the very ominous mountain road leading to Sheridan. This park is free if you don't use the power or water and we don't really need it. The campground at Horseshoe Bend is right on Bighorn Lake and is beautifully situated among stunning red cliffs.

We drive to the end of the paved road in the park where we see some of the wild mustangs and a really cool historic ranch. We then return home for a weiner roast over an open fire. Doesn't get any better than this!
