The wind started blowing last night and I thought the whole trailer would be taken down the embankment. I've never seen wind like that before.
We are driving to Yellowstone today and the wind is blowing directly in our face. High fuel consumption, no doubt.
We stopped at the Buffalo Bill Dam just west of Cody. It was the tallest dam in the world when it was built in 1910. We are told that this wind of 35 - 40 mph is a just a breeze compared to normal which is more like 60 mph.

it was so windy at the dam |
We arrive in the park around 1:30 and start climbing to 8600 ft and 4 degrees celsius and it's snowing on and off til we hit Fishing Bridge RV Park where we decide to stay; full hookups but $52 per night. No cell service and no internet.

this scared me a bit.....yikes and we were so high |
The wind is now gone but they say it can change within 5 minutes and it does. The sun is shining with not a cloud in sight when we go into the General Store and when we come out 15 minutes later, it's completely clouded over and cold.

We take a little drive around the area and make our plans for tomorrow.
